Iraq Questions Fair Game for McClellan?
Former White House spokesman Scott McClellan will likely face questions about the war in Iraq when he goes before the House Judiciary Committee on Friday.
That’s the word among aides helping members prepare for the high-profile, election-year hearing.
The hearing was set to focus on what McClellan knew - and didn’t know - about the roles of Karl Rove, Scooter Libby and other senior White House officials in the 2003 outing of former CIA agent Valerie Plame.
Once McClellan is sworn in, though, committee members are free to ask whatever they want.
“We’re hearing from (Democrats) that once McClellan sits down it’s not going to be about Plame, it’s going to be about Iraq,” said one Republican aide.
McClellan, who left the White House two years ago, returned to the media spotlight in May, with the publication of his memoir recounting the three years (2003-2006) he spent as press secretary to President Bush.
In his book, “What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington’s Culture of Deception,” McClellan writes that “the Iraq war was not necessary” and charges that the administration “made a decision to turn away from candor and honesty when those qualities were most needed.”
Lines like those raise questions - especially in an election year.

There were several reasons given as to why we should go to war in Iraq. These reasons were given by everyone in this administration; but why hasn’t anyone seen fit to ask the pertinent question about one reason George Bush gave: “He (Saddam)tried to kill my dad.” It really dose not matter how many lives are lost: What matter is George Bush avenged his father.

You know I find it VERY INTERESTING McClellan was a TRUE BLUE BUSH employee for MANY MANY YEARS, and then now he was to make MEGA BUCKS on a book that he had NOT COMPLETELY WRITTEN BY HIMSELF, but had LOTS OF INFLUENCE ON WHAT SHOULD BE PUT IN THE BOOK. HOW INTERESTING IT IS THAT THIS “SO CALLED” employee of Bush and a long time FRIEND, seems to be wanting MONEY and seems like this is the way he seems to get it and of COURSE the Dems and all of the anti-american media, people and terrorists are LOVING EVERY BIT OF PRESS this GUY IS GETTING. What a SCUM BAG HE IS…. Is everyone that doesn’t like SOMETHING ABOUT WASHINGTON D.C, is going to come out with DIRTY LAUNDRY?? and are we to believe ALL OF IT, I THINK NOT and this is ONE OF THOSE BOOKS that is getting a ton of pub from the MEDIA and now seems to be the BOOK CLUB OF THE MONTH for these congressmen to want to delve in. It seems these congressmen would seem to have more important SUBJECTS to discuss, like the economy, gas prices and how these CEO’S are getting way too much money. GOD BLESS THIS COUNTRY, BECAUSE WHEN THE DEMS GET THEIR PRESIDENT IN, WE ARE GOING TO BE PUT IN “hell.

I am guessing that Scott has no real info about Iraq. However, the circus will be interesting.
Democrats have no idea how they are perceived by most Americans when they pull this empty, showboating nonsense.
Will they now drag every author trying to make a Bush bashing buck in front of a commitee? This is a colossial waste of time and money. Someone call the fraud waste and abuse hotline.

Obviously you’re from another planet, because Hell is where this country is right now thanks to the POTUS and his enabling right wing party that did nothing about the economy, gas prices and CEOs for the better part of 7 years. Don’t blame it on the Dems….”step away from the crack pipe, please”

This administration is all about (fear). Your fears and ignorance is exactly what they prey upon. They love to capture the vote of the uneducated citizen. This Press Secretary is a very brave soul. Everyone else who wanted to come forward just excepted their severance package and kept their mouth shuttt. Keep in mind that: “God and (fear) do not occupy the same space or ideas” - you must choose wisely and without fear in your heart. McClellan simply wanted to be cleansed of his sin.

Stock up on food and ammunition. This administration should be charged with Treason. This war has made things worse for Americans and 5 years later our borders remain full of holes. Treason. Billions spent on building Iraq,s and Mexico,s infastructures while ours crumbles. Treason.
