Baylor and other Big 12 schools should be ashamed of themselves for scheduling these kinds of games. Who’s next—Howard Payne or Hardin-Simmons? My Lord!
Hey…it takes two to tango and if the other school wants to play…why not?? It brings them money they would not normally see and certainly recognition even if they loose. Besides Baylor playing and winning was not a ‘given’. That said I would love to see Baylor play each year…SMU, RICE, TCU, Houston…it could bring back people who used to go o all those Southwest Conference games and increase attendance. I know I would go.
Keep winning and the locker room’s joy will not end. wisconsin klc, these games are scheduled not only for the 1-A teams, but the 2-A teams like to have them too. Sometimes, but not often, you find a 2-A team that beats a couple of these schools and that is good for their programs. <><
Remember App State vs. Michigan? Most schools play a division 2 team once a year these days. Nothing wrong with it as long as they win a few division 1 games as well.
A win is great, but remember this is a Div.II school. We won some games last year early, then went on a losing streak once we hit the Big 12. Let’s hope this year will bring better results.
Who the heck is Northwestern State???? I’m happy with this win but lets win in conference and beat some good teams before we go on and call this a rebirth of Baylor football. I’ve been down this road one to many times and until I see them win some good games in conference then I’ll get excited. I have them wining 4 games this season and this was one of them.
The defence was great!!! It’s about time they put that Francis kid in. He is an awesome player. This is only the first win, let’s not get to hasty. I will get excited when they win against other Division I schools.
wlr why don,t you get yourself out there and play some all you can do is talk the talk but don,t play so when you get out there then you can talk the talk so for now step back and them enjoy there moment great game no mather how it is.
I JUST WANTED TO SAY THE BEARS LOOK TOTALLY DIFFERENT THEN WHAT IVE SEEN THE PAST EIGHT YEARS. I THINK THIS WILL BE THE STEPPING STONE FOR THE NEXT SEASONS TO COME. A WIN IS A WIN NO MATTER WHO IT IS! WHAT WACO FANS SHOULD BE DOING IS SUPPORTING THE BEARS AND GIVING THE ENCOURAGEMENT AND KNOW WACO BACKS THEM. FANS SUPPORTING THE TEAMS IS WHAT HELPS ENCOURAGEMENT.YOU CANT BUILD A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM OVER NIGHT AND YOU SURE CANT BUILD A TEAM SWITCHING COACHES BACK AND FORTH EVERY TWO YEARS BAYLOR. I LIKE WHAT I SEE WITH COACH BRILES HE IS A BELIEVER AND A SUPPORTER AND STANDS FOR THE WAY HE COACHES… GOOD LUCK BAYLOR !!!!!
Northwestern State is not Div. 2. They are what once was Div. 1-AA, now called the “Championship Subdivision.” It’s the same division that Appalachian State is in, and schools like Stephen F., Sam Houston and Texas State, who played SMU Saturday. Lots of Div. 1 schools, even the big boys like Florida, occasionally play these schools.
A win is a win. They will be few this year, but you need games like this to work things out.
i also went to the game. yes, a win is a win but baylor could not beat a good 5a high school team. i really think that they would lose to a team like south lake carroll. go bears.
bambam, you’re ridiculous. NWS plays at the same level as App State, Texas State, Sam Houston State, etc. All these schools would mop the floor with any high school team. That’s a ridiculous statement to make.
Please, people!!! This is probably the ONLY game that baylor will win!!!! They played a school that NOBODY ever heard of. This is a small school, the equivalent of a 1-A class game. baylor really has no busniess being in the Big-12. They should just drop out of the real college schools. If baylor wants to win games that anybody really gives a s** about they need to move down to Division 1-AA, otherwise baylor will always be the doormat of the real Big-12. SO, baylor fans enjoy your one and only win, the Big -12 needs baylor, the real schools need to keep their shoes clean from the dirt and baylor being the doormat does help alot!!!
Hey i live in oklahoma but not by choice and all i hear is OU! But let me tell disspell all this negative retoric about the Bears. OU didnt come back with their heads all swole-up after the win over the Bears. Believe u me they came back respecting the Bears and Waco, all the nations eyes will be focused on the City of Waco from here on out. So my good people enjoy the ride and keep smiling at the national cameras in the spotlight. Oh ill be tring to find me a Griffin III joursey to wear here in oklahoma. Win or lose Bear games will excite the cameras for the next 4 yrs baby! Oh SHAKE THEN HATERS LOL.

We’ve got a quarterback. With some sticky handed receivers the offence should work well.
