Chris Parr is this young mans brother. He recently robbed someone at gun point, and was arrested. Sadly, these two are some of Texas’ best high school football players and have chosen to go down the wrong path. If they had played their cards right they could have earned money (and lots of it) playing ball instead of ripping people off. I think the writer of the article is trying to show the connection by brotherhood and by crime. SAD!

What do you mean what does he have to do with this article? It’s his brother that’s what it has to do with this article, just goes to show what kind of people La Vega are dealing with and why they should be in an alternative school and not with normal law abiding citizens. Makes me sick to know they let that punk back in school, if my kid was a student there you can bet I would do everything in my power to make sure he wasn’t in the same building as my kids. Sounds like both these kids need to spend some time behind bars where they belong…..

What is really sad is that both of these young men were allowed to return to school after any and all of their law breaking actions. Not only were they allowed to return to school with the regular population of students they were both allowed immediately back on the football field. Yes, the older is out of school already and no the article is not about his younger brother, however, what kind of punishment did either recieve from the school? To my knowledge none. Because they were/are both outstanding athletes, strings were pulled to get them back in the school and on the football field. Not speculation there..only fact. I recently pulled my child from LaVega not only to get him away from things like this, but to better his chances with his future. In no way am I trying to dog the school out, I am a graduate of LaVega. I used to be a proud graduate of the school, but after the publicized ignorance as mentioned above, I can no longer support this school system.

I too am a long ago LV grad…it was a great school with a very good reputation and tradition.

Not now.

The world is generally a tougher place to raise kids these days; but “good kids” don’t steal and rob people.

Maybe prison will have a good football team.

I do not understand why people think La Vega is so bad becasue two young men made very poor choses in their life. There are several young people at La Vega that are very talented in many different ways, wether it be football, band or class work. The thing of it is, football is not always going to get you a lot of money, it can however. There is always that chance of getting hurt and then where are you. Education shoud come first. I know that La Vega has some good role models and kids have learned various things from these people. I do agree that is you do the crime you should do the time. I feel that our young people should learned from others mistakes. Think before you act. We do not know what these young men have been through and do not have the right to judge them. I graduated from La Vega and I have to young men attending La Vega. There is more to La Vega than two young men caught up in bad things. I wish the press would look at other talent and quit focussing on the bad things that go on.

I’m sorry these young men may be all star football players or whatever but the youngest one held a gun to another guy and robbed him of his things, I wanna have sympathy for them and say they just need someone to guide them on a better path, or blah blah blah BUT WHAT IF THE GUN WENT OFF? HUh? like it did with my cousin Robert Nevarez that was killed by three little thug wannabes! There is no sympathy for sticking a gun in somebody’s face and robbing them or stealing money out of a safe. This is called CRIME. It is not about, “oh poor things, they may have had it rough, we don’t know. Don’t judge them, they are good boys and really good football players.”

Wake up AMERICA. These thugs belong in jail for a long time along with all the other criminals. You will feel differently when they shove the barrell of their pistol up your nose or you wake up at night and see them standing over your bed with a knife. You won’t be thinking, hey how’s it hanging…you are really a good football player.

Has anyone else thought about the part where Parr is suppose to “make $7,000 in restitution” while he’s out on probabtion? Just where is he going to get $7,000 to pay back MONEY THAT HE STOLE?! Doesn’t make much sense. I’d sure keep my doors locked if I lived anywhere around where he lives.

Typing in all caps is a giveaway that you are the same person.

Don’t call the law abiding citizens fools…the criminals are the fools.

Felony charges are difficult to surpress and any respectable college will be very careful about letting felons into the classroom. There is still time to clean up their lives, but football is not a ticket to success and waving guns in people’s faces is not to be taken lightly like it is a “mistake”.

We do have encouraging words for criminals. Quit breaking the law or pay the consequence. You can not just think you are a kid and do what ever you want. I am so tired of people making excuses for criminals. You need to be comforting their victims not them. They deserve to be behind bars instead of on probation. I have a teenager and if he ever does something against the law he will have to set in jail because I am not going to pay for his conduct. This is what these parents need to be telling these boys. Especially before it is too late.

It is not about attack or not and being closed minded it is how our society is turning out. We must take a stand and stop all this crime. God can change this young man but he has to pay for what he did. If you read the bible you will notice people was punished much harder than we ever thought about being punished so lets not bring God into the factor until you know the facts. I am not upset because someone doesn’t share my point of view. I believe she is being closed minded. She is a teenager and is only 16 but if she is going to have an opinion then she needs to be prepared to see the other side of things as well. What a waste of God Given Talent! Mother and “Lack of Father” has to be accountable for part of their actions. Examples set for them by their parents propelled these boys into a Life of poor choices. After the Play Off Game Loss to China Spring, their parents did a fine job of showing bad character. Let’s get into a fight in the parking lot over who was responsible for the loss. Police called, but all swept under the rug. Prediction — Wards of the State all their life.

This is just awful that people are going to this extreme, exchanging ugly messages on this topic about the 2 brothers, i had 2 sons that graduated from LaVega class of 2008 and they were and still are friends with Chris and Kourtney, a lot of you people only see what you have read in the headlines, and you all have already judged these boys and hung them out to dry, He Who Is Without Sin, Let Him Cast The First Stone, Pray people seriously for their situation, yes they made poor choices as most teens do, and i also know that Chris did not have a real gun and that he really is not the responsible person for that crime FYI. This is not a matter of minding your own business…that pertains to whether or not you bathe everyday (that’s your private business). Crime against people is a public matter and therefore involves the community.

You folks saying that this was just a tiny misjudgement to steal $7,000 or push a pistol up somebody’s nose need to use all your negative energy to help the boys if you care about them. But don’t wander out in a public forum defending such behavior. There are a lot of very good single parents as well and couples doing everything possible to keep their kids on the straight and narrow.

The police report does not say that the criminal used a toy or a water pistol…it says a GUN.

A mistake is forgetting your lunch. A crime is sticking a gun in somebody’s face. Did the police help you with the drug deals outside your window when you reported it. Surely you did not just sit there and watch.

Good for you. You saw crime in progress and did something right as a citizen. So you have an idea of what is right and what is wrong.

Just apply that same thinking to any situation, without bias, and you will be a proper citizen.

It sounds like you know these young men. Go to their house, talk with them, pray with them and take them to church with you. If you are aware of wrongdoing, then report it.

It is very easy to answer the questions…read carefully and without bias: 1.)Nobody with any brain power is ever going to use their real name because it is STUPID. People who do bad things have no moral values and will try to hurt other people to shut them up. Get it? a group of people commiting a crime is usually referred to as a “gang”. In each crime committed by the Parr boys, they were in a group of no gooders. It was not a church outing. 2.)Mills did not commit a violent act against persons…she embezzeled (alledgedly). That is different than robbing people with a gun. 3.)Nobody is defending Mills in that blog so nobody cares…therefore, not much action. You and your daughter are trying to hold the Parr boys up as good boys who made a mistake. That is utterly ridiculous. They did not steal candy, they commited serious felonious acts. Serious stuff for anyone, much less kids.

I am not going to stand by and let anyone say that they are poor boys who just slipped up for a minute. They are criminals. They have been locked up and are on probation…not by me, but the court system. You can let your daughter hang with them, but I am not going to walk down Wheeler Street with them.

You were on the losing side of this debate from the get go. You cannot possibly effectively argue in favor of criminals. They forfeit their rights to an extent when they invade the rights of others.

You are tired because you cannot possibly win. I will remain vigilant and derive energy by supporting enforcement of law.

Stealing large amounts of cash and waving guns in people’s faces are criminal offenses.

It is not hate I feel or as you would say IT IS NOT HATE I FEEL, but rather love for America. It saddens me that crime is increasing and threatening the lives of good people. It is scary to know that people like you exist who coddle no good criminals.

Remember, pray for your God to bless you (I don’t need it from you)…I have a relationship with God and I use my brain and not my all caps mouth.
