Another TV contest, another local contestant (s)
By Carl Hoover
| Friday, May 23, 2008, 12:30 PM
“Dancing With The Stars” and “American Idol” have wound up their seasons, but over on CMT, its Friday night musical reality show, “Can You Duet,” still has several weeks to go before the finish line.
No Waco singer in that group, but 29-year-old Jared Johnson from Belton has made it with partner David Oakleaf into the round of seven as have Waxahachie’s Jeremiah Rickey and partner Nick Brownell (one duet team gets knocked off each week, so there are six weeks left).
Some folks like to root for the home team - Belton and Waxahachie are as close as home team will get this “Duet” season.
