Waco Symphony single tickets now on sale
By Carl Hoover
| Tuesday, August 5, 2008, 02:45 PM
Those of you who prefer to pick and choose your Waco Symphony Orchestra concert to attend, rather than buy a season ticket for the whole shebang, now can buy tickets to those specific concerts. Single tickets are currently on sale online or by calling (254) 754-0851.
There’s also a great deal offered for Baylor, MCC and TSTC students, who, for the first time, can buy a student season ticket for $20.
For the record, the season’s subscription concerts and their guest artists: violinist Shannon Lee, Sept. 25; ABBA tribute band Waterloo, Nov. 6; pianist David Syme, Jan. 15; an all-orchestral program, March 21; and harmonica player Robert Bonfiglio, April 7. Rounding out the season are a Vienna Boys Choir concert, Nov. 15; “The Nutcracker” featuring the St. Petersburg Classic Ballet Theater of Marina Medvetskaya, Dec. 7; and a “Country Christmas” Holiday Pops concert with Waco native Caroline Cutbirth, Dec. 12.
Michael Bracken, who handles marketing for the symphony, tells me tickets for the ABBA pops concert on Nov. 6 are already selling and WSO officers expect it may sell out early, just as last year’s concert with Art Garfunkel did.
ABBA fans, you’ve been advised.
