Songwriter Showcase - Summer Concert Series presents 4^th Concert - September 29^th

While the initial plan for the Nashville Songwriters Association International Songwriter Showcase –Summer Concert Series was to only cover three months, we are excited to announce a forth concert. Singer/Songwriter Thom Shepherd will be performing on September 29th at the OS2, 105 E Houston in downtown Marshall.

In March of 2005 singer Craig Morgan released Thom's song "Redneck Yacht Club" to country radio, which eventually went to #1. Other hit songs of Thom's include Montgomery Gentry's "A Man’s Job" and another #1 "Riding With Private Malone" recorded by David Ball. The song also won Thom an Achievement Award from the Nashville Songwriters Association International as "the song you wish you had written." Thom as toured and performed in Key West, Gulf Shores, Texas, Maryland, and Virginia. In January of 2007 he completed his seventh tour for Armed Forces Entertainment, to Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Djibouti, Africa.

He has also had songs recorded by George Jones, Montgomery Gentry, Pam Tillis, Buddy Jewell, Joe Nichols, Blake Shelton, Neal McCoy, Kevin Fowler, George Canyon, bluegrass artist Ronnie Bowman, and Cledus T. Judd.

Thom is also co-owner of Redneck Yacht Club LLC, a company that is developing clothing and accessories for the boating lifestyle www.redneckyachtclub.com".

Opening the event will be Nashville Songwriters Association International - Marshall, TX members, Nolen Brown and Amelia Blake from Shreveport.

The Songwriter Showcase is presented by the local chapter of Nashville Songwriters Association International and Main Street Marshall. Doors open at 6:30, concert is at 7:00. Tickets are $10.00. You can purchase at the door or can reserve a table by calling 903-926-4633.
