Aundra Burns, 2106 Morton Street, received the New Town Neighborhood Association Community Pride Award for November 2009.
This home features creme-colored siding with barn red trim, double windows with shutters and a red tone brick surface below the window level. A covered porch entryway with white decorative columns, glass entry storm door and white paneled entry door lighted by black wrought iron lighting mounted on white raised wooden plaques provide interest detail.

Loropetalum Chinese fringe-flower, commonly known as purple delight shrubs, line the sidewalk entry. Taller shrubs of the same variety add height contrast under the northeast window.
Pink begonias and a lavender flowering vine weave throughout the plum delight shrubs. Two flowering hanging baskets on the covered porch and accent lighting along the entry walkway complete the landscaping.
The New Town Neighborhood Association thanks Ms. Burns for providing a property that reflects pride in herself and in her community.
Each month a residence, church, school, or business property in the New Town area is recognized with the New Town Neighborhood Community Pride Award.
