Kelli Peppers, a junior from Vidor, and Seth Walker, a senior from Tyler, were crowned the 2009 Homecoming Queen and King at East Texas Baptist University during Homecoming activities on Saturday. |
The 2009 Homecoming King and Queen of East Texas Baptist University was crowned prior to the Tiger football game with Mississippi College Saturday night at Ornelas Stadium.
The king is senior Seth Walker of Tyler and queen is Junior Kelli Peppers of Vidors. Students nominated candidates for the court with winners chosen by student voting.
Homecoming King Seth, son of Steve and Linda Walker, is a biology major with a minor in kinesiology. Walker has served as the captain of the Tiger soccer team and is on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes leadership team.
Homecoming Queen Kelli, daughter of Robert and Carla Peppers, is a sociology major and her minor is religion. Ms. Peppers has served as vice president for the Student Activities Board and is a member of the Lady Tigers softball team.
First runners-up to the court Sadie Hill, a senior psychology major from Italy, Texas, and Ricky Joe Waller, a junior Religion major from Gladewater. Second runners-up were Mia Loucka, a senior all-level kinesiology major from Saratoga, Texas, Sergio Armas, a sophomore mass communication major from Crockett. Other members of the court were sophomore Jared Jaggers of Conroe; senior Jenna Jones of Lumberton; senior Tyler Moore of Shreveport, La.; and senior Jordyn Perry of Tyler.
ETBU lost to Mississippi College, 26-7, in the homecoming game.
