Fright Train, Corn Maze continues in Jefferson

JEFFERSON \— The Halloween adventures continue in Jefferson Friday and Saturday as the town presents its eight annual Terror on the Bayou, featuring the Screamin' Corn Maze and Runaway Fright Train.

At the daytime Screamin' Corn Maze, opened Friday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., attendees can take a walk through the stalks, featuring static-display haunts, a cemetery and a 100-foot underground tunnel. The event is perfect for families, school youth and church groups. The maze is decourated for the evening Hallween event, so while nothing will jump out at you, there is a bit of gore. Tickets are $5 per person. A special fee for large groups is available. The G-rated version of the evening Scream' Corn Maze is from 6 to 7 p.m. The PG-13 version is from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The maze, which is now more than an acre, includes a walk thorugh the Piney Woods, through the Haunted Cemetery and culminates with the infamous 100-foot undergorund Tunnel of Doom. Once within the maze, you cannot escape the monsters, ghouls and dangers lurking in the foggy mist. Evil clowns, toxic wasteland, land of rats, spiders and snakes, skeletons and ghouls. Attendees will be spooked by more than Halloween ghosts. Tickets are $11 on both days. Combo tickets, which includes the train ride, are available for $16.50 to $23.

The legendary Runaway Fright Train will feature "Freaky Fairy Tales" in which childhood stories will come to life with a scary twist! G and PG-13 runs are available. Prices range from $11 to $16 for Runaway Fright Train. The first run of each night is family-oriented for all ages, while later runs are geared toward patrons that want the ultimate Halloween experience full of spine-tingling terror. Day train field trips are also available for large groups.

Friday times are 7:30, 8:30, and 9:30. Prices range from $12.90 to $15.70. Saturday times are 7:30, 8:30, 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. Prices are $12.90 to $15.70. Tickets can be ordered online at www.jeffersonrailway.com. Call 866-398-2038 for more details.
