Tipi Tellers visit HMS
The Tipi Tellers program visited Hallsville Middle School — in their first East Texas program — thanks to librarian Rhonda McKinney.
Tipi Tellers, a dedicated group of professional storytellers, utilizes the power of story to develop strength of character, teach respect for all life, and promote intercultural harmony. Employing the Native American philosophy of stewardship, they foster understanding of the interdependence that exists throughout all of nature and teach respect for themselves, each other and all living things.
Football contest now under way
Hey Bobcat fans — save your Lions Club football program for a chance to win a FREE brick to be placed in the "Honorable Alumni and Friends of HISD" Brick Plaza, which is located at the entrance of Hallsville High School. Simply save your Lions Club football program, go home and go to hisdfoundation.org. Then, check to see if your program number is the winning number. If so, a commemorative brick in your name or to memorialize another may be yours FREE. Be sure and hold onto your program, log on, and see if you are a winner.
HISD teachers, staff pitch in
More than 180 Hallsville Independent School District teachers and staff members have pledged $5,195 during the 100 percent Awareness Campaign. Thanks to everyone for getting involved and supporting our students by making a donation. After all, the students of Hallsville schools are the faces of our future.
