A Harrison County grand jury has handed down 18 indictments, including one for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one for sexual assault of a child younger than age 17.

Indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was 33-year-old Terrence Carnell Wheeler, of Marshall. According to the indictment, Wheeler threatened his spouse on Nov. 3, 2012, by placing a pistol against her head. The arrest report indicates that the incident occurred following an argument between the two in which the victim attempted to leave.

According to the arrest report, an intoxicated Wheeler initially fired the gun at the ground near the victim's feet and then pushed her to the ground. When she got up, Wheeler pointed the gun at her head and fired, but missed her head due to a malfunction with the gun, the report indicates.

The report goes on to say that a witness intervened and was able to convince Wheeler to stop the threats and leave the scene. The witness and victim called the police and Wheeler was arrested shortly after.

Indicted for two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child under age 17 was Bobby Wayne Brown, of Marshall.

According to the arrest report, Brown, 21, had sex on two occasions with a 15-year-old girl at the time - once in July 2011 and in October of the same year.
