Texas Bank and Trust Chief Marketing Officer earns national certification

Karen Partee, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Texas Bank and Trust, was recently awarded the Certified Financial Marketing Professional (CFMP) designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers (ICB), a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association (ABA) in Washington, D.C.

Partee joined Texas Bank and Trust in the spring of 2004. As Chief Marketing Officer, Partee oversees all marketing, advertising, and community relations for the bank and its 14 branches.

She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from Texas Tech University. She is also an honors graduate from the ABA School of Bank Marketing and Management at Southern Methodist University.

Partee is a sustaining member and past president of the Junior League of Longview. She also serves on the board of directors for Junior Achievement and as a member of the Longview Regional Women's Advisory Council.

The CFMP designation is awarded to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of financial services marketing. To qualify for the CFMP certification, individuals must have certain levels of experience and education in the financial marketing profession, pass an exam, and agree to abide by a code of ethics. The CFMP exam covers many areas including financial principles, laws and regulations, market research, characteristics of marketing plans, and marketing components.

As a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association, ICB promotes the highest standards of performance in the financial services industry by validating individuals' knowledge and expertise.
