Tickets are on sale for the November Words and Voices concert featuring Nashville songwriter Wynn Varble, Nov. 14.
The concert will be at the Blue Frog Grill, 101 W. Austin St, at 7 p.m.
According to Varble's Web site, www.wynnvarble.com, the country music singer, who grew up in Ellenwood, Ga., taught himself to play guitar at age 15. He worked at honing his craft, mastering basic chord progressions, and by age 16, he formed a bluegrass band.
After graduating high school, Wynn started on the path to musical success playing the club circuit and landing gigs from Austin to Ft. Lauderdale.
In 1982, he visited Nashville and spent several months writing with then-up-and-coming singer/songwriter Dave Gibson. Having assimilated into the Nashville music community, Varble completely relocated to the area in 1992. He was signed to the Starstruck Writers Group in 1994 and later joined the Warner/Chappell writing staff.
Wynn had his first number one song "Have You Forgotte" with Darryl Worley in 2003. The song has been nominated for Song of the Year by the CMA (Country Music Association) Awards.
