Jennifer Moore, 35, of Marshall was indicted Wednesday in federal court's Eastern District of Texas for armed bank robbery and using a firearm during a crime of violence.
Ms. Moore allegedly entered the lobby of the Texas National Bank in Bullard at 10:26 a.m. on Oct. 13, 2009, and pointed a gun at tellers demanding cash, according to the indictment.
She then fled on foot and was seen leaving the area in a truck, according to the indictment.
Ms. Moore turned herself in to police on Oct. 15, and at the time of her arrest was residing at 2060 Farm-to-Market Road 450 S. No. 6, Hallsville.
She turned herself in on a charge of forgery of a financial instrument out of Hallsville, Bullard Police Chief Gary Lewis said in a previous article.
She was held without bond on the unrelated felony forgery charge until the FBI could secure an arrest warrant, Lewis said.
With marked money and a witness statement, the FBI served a search warrant on Ms. Moore's home on the afternoon of Oct. 15, where police found evidence of money straps from the bank inside her home, said Bullard Detective Bryan Richards, who led the city's investigation.
Ms. Moore does not have a history of armed robbery, Lewis said.
This case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bullard Police Department, the Smith County Sheriff's Office, the Marshall Police Department and the Harrison County Sheriff's Office. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jim Middleton.
Texas robbery statistics show that only 13 percent of robberies are committed by women, and 48 percent were committed with a firearm in 2008.
She faces up to 25 years in federal prison if convicted.
