JARED SIMPSON, SR., QB, HALLSVILLE
While Jared Simpson's numbers weren't overwhelming Friday night, he did help his team to a win, which is ultimately the most important statistic.
Simpson completed 5 of 12 passes for 144 yards and also added a scoring run in the second half to help the Bobcats to a 14-6 win over Tatum at Eagle Stadium.
With his team trailing 6-0 just before halftime, Simpson found Justin Wingfield for a 39-yard gain that set up a 3-yard touchdown run by Dedrick Taylor to give Hallsville the lead for good.
Taylor added 108 yards on 24 carries.
Simpson later set up his own scoring run with a 38-yard connection to Eric Mitchell during the midst of a five-play drive.
Hallsville, which will travel to Kilgore this week, churned out 19 first downs compared to Tatum's five.
