Bryce French,
JR., QB/CB, Marshall
Bryce French made his impact felt quickly in Marshall's playoff-clinching 48-13 win over Sulphur Springs on Friday when he picked up a teammate's fumble on the opening play from scrimmage and took it 66 yards down the right sideline for a touchdown.
The score set the tone for the game for the Mavericks, who sealed second place in District 13-4A with the win.
French went on to add an interception that halted a Sulphur Springs drive in the red zone later in the first half, while also rushing for 125 yards and another touchdown on 11 carries.
It was a season high in rushing yards for the junior, who is the Mavs' backup quarterback behind Brandon Fitzgerald.
French was also matched on the Wildcats top receiver from his cornerback spot for a portion of the game, helping to limit the Wildcats to no passing touchdowns.
