Marshall boys cross country places third at district

Marshall's Jonathan Tijerina won his third straight individual district title at last weekend's District 13-4A cross country meet, as the Mavericks finished in third place as a team to qualify for the regional meet.

Trey Jones, Mikkel Keasler, James Halloway, Jesus Pineda, Miguel Vazquez and Nick Guyer also helped Marshall to its 91-point total.


 

 

The Lady Mavs, meanwhile, finished in sixth place, led by Amber Crandell (13th) and Victoria Schock (22nd).

Rounding out the Lady Mavs' finishers was Krissa Green, Grace Guvernator and Ashley Ratfliff.

Marshall's boys and girls junior varsity teams finished in second and third overall, respectively.

Dayna Guzman won first place individually for the girls team while Lucas Spencer placed third for the boys.

Also competing for the girls was Trinedad Pineda, Lexi Morin, Savanah Ashley and Brianca Simon and for the boys was Paul Mascarinos, David Rollins, Juan Hernandez, Cordarius Williams.

The top three teams and top 10 individuals advance to the Class 4A Region II Meet on Saturday in Arlington.
