HARMONY — The Harleton Wildcats (7-3, 6-1) earned a playoff spot with their 17-10 win over the Harmony Eagles (7-3, 5-2) Friday.
The Wildcats received the opening kickoff and went 67 yards in eight plays. Logan Jones completed the series with a 1-yard quarterback keeper for the score. Connor Lloyd kicked the PAT.
Scoring didn't pick up again until late in the second quarter when Harmony's Jordan Argabright picked the ball off from Jones and went 53 yards for the score. The extra point kick was good to tie the game at 7.
Lloyd then finished off a 5-play drive with a 32-yard field goal to put Harleton ahead at half time.
Jones scored in the third on another 1-yard quarterback keeper. Lloyd's kick was good to put Harleton up 17-7. Late in the quarter, Harmony's Ricky Canup kicked a 29-yard field goal to finish up a 9-play drive.
The fourth quarter was mostly a defensive struggle until Harmony got the ball back with 2:50 left. They used seven plays to take the ball down to the Harleton 7-yard line. On fourth-and-1, the Harleton defense stopped Harmony and forced a turnover on downs.
The Wildcats then ran out the clock to seal their victory.
Jones, Lloyd and Tanner Allen all made interceptions.
Harleton will face Linden-Kildare in next week's playoff, but a date is not yet set.
