Cabot Corporation hosted its first Sustainability Day for more than 4,500 employees across all of its locations worldwide on May 16.
Suzanne Scribner, Environmental Manager of Cabot’s plant in Marshall, reached out to SWEPCO’s Energy Efficiency team to see if they would like to participate by providing Cabot employees with energy saving information.
SWEPCO Energy Efficiency & Consumer Program Coordinators Kawona Abmas and Debra Miller, who both oversee SWEPCO’s Residential Energy Efficiency Programs, were quick to volunteer.
They met with more than 80 Cabot employees over a period of two and a half hours to discuss ways to save energy at home and at work.
“It’s great to see one of our customers champion sustainability initiatives and immediately think of SWEPCO for support,” Abmas said. “I’m glad we played an active role in educating their employees about how sustainability and energy go hand in hand.”
