Robert Steven Malone of Bossier City, La., and his bride, the former Angela Dawn Johnson of McKinney, exchanged wedding vows at 2 p.m. Nov. 6, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Waskom. The bride is the daughter of Leonard and Ernestine Johnson of Waskom. She is the granddaughter of the late Dovie and Junior Johnson of Waskom and the late Charles Ernest Hilton of San Augustine and William and Armenia Hilton of Nederland. She is a science teacher at Dowell Middle School in McKinney. The groom is the son of Mike and Linda Malone of Lubbock. He is the grandson of Bobby and Mary Lynn Malone of Lubbock and the late Milton and Louise Sanders of Happy. He is employed with the Security Forces in the United States Air Force. Rev. Leland Crawford officiated the ceremony, assisted by Rev. Jim Walsh. The reading was by Elizabeth Malone, sister of the groom. Music was by pianist Michelle Deslattes. For the processional Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing recorded by Angela Johnson and accompanied by Eric Vandiver was played. Tresha McKnight, Elizabeth Malone, Larry Alton and Gene Gardner sang Be Thou My Vision. A slide show was produced by Sarah Carroll and Kristy Kreymer, set to the music At the Beginning from Anastasia. Given in marriage by her father, Leonard Elton Johnson, the bride wore a white strapless Alfred Angelo design with a sweetheart neckline, crystal bead trim and cathedral train. The cathedral length veil was held by a beautiful tiara. The bride's bouquet was a ball of white hydrangea lilies and roses. Matron of honor was Sarah Carroll of Allen. Bridesmaids were Diana Detterick of Ascot, United Kingdom; Tresha McKnight of Resita, Romania; Amanda JoSherrod of Waskom, sister of the bride; and Monica Taylor of Waxahachie. Honorary bridesmaids were Laurie Black of Saginaw, Holly Guthrie of El Campo, Kristy Kreymer of Arlington, Brandy Owens of Lubbock, Liz Shoulders of Frisco, Angela Bradshaw of Waskom, Amy Hutchinson of Shreveport, La., Amanda Nikkel of Batesville, Ark., Jami Petty of Decatur and Melanie Waldon of Waskom. The flower girl was Anna Carroll of Allen. Kelly Daily of Marshall served at the guest registry. All the attendants chose their own design of gown in various hues of plum, green and coral. All the bouquets were a mixture of flowers echoing the colors in their dresses. The best man was Andrew Malone of Lubbock, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Phillip Malone of Elmhurst, N.Y., brother of the groom; Harrel Peterson, Paul Clark and Ian Haynes, all of Bossier City, La. Zach Shoulders of Frisco was the ringbearer. Ushers were Jason Mosley of Nederland and Colin Wheeler of London, United Kingdom. The reception was held at Waskom High School. A massive arrangement of colorful flowers in a bird bath which was placed on a round table served as the centerpiece. The base was surrounded by wedding portraits of the bride and groom's family and friends. The rehearsal dinner was held at the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church hosted by Mike and Linda Malone, the groom's parents. The bridesmaids luncheon was held at Roseville Bed and Breakfast in Marshall hosted by Sue Gardner and Sarah Carroll. Following a wedding trip to Natchitoches, La., the couple has made their home at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.
