Nicholas Scott and Jessica Ettinger

Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Scott

Scott-Ettinger

Jessica Lynne Ettinger and Nicholas Eugene Scott were united in holy matrimony Saturday, November 27, 2011, in the Sanctuary of Summit United Methodist Church in Marshall, Texas. The candle-light service was conducted by Reverend Mario Parga.

Jessica is the daughter of Charles and Ginger Ettinger of Marshall. She is the granddaughter of the late James and Mildred Ettinger and the late J. Irvin and Pauline Maurer, all of Pennsylvania.

Nicholas is the son of Donald Scott of Marshall and of Heather and Lonnie Morrell of Marshall. He is the grandson of Phyllis Pittman of Marshall and the late Paul Pittman and the late Gene and Inez Scott of Marshall.

Jessica was presented in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. Her formal wedding dress was an ivory satin A-line gown with a side-draped asymmetrical skirt. The dress was accented by a coordinating short-sleeve shrug with a stand-up ruffle collar. She wore a 1950's vintage flower pinned to the side of her hair pinned in a low, casual knot. Jessica's reception gown was a knee-length ivory taffeta sheath worn with the same coordinating shrug. Her bouquet was a satin-wrapped stem collection of deep orange calla lilies and deep red roses.

The maid of honor was lifelong best friend Callan Searcy of Longview. Bridesmaids were Amy Hall of Longview and Dawn Ladwig of Dallas. They wore knee-length off-the-shoulder chocolate brown dresses of silk shantung and carried bouquets of calla lilies in fall colors of deep orange.

The best man was Christopher Scott of Thousand Oaks, California, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Donald Scott of Marshall, father of the groom; Zane Grant of Brooklyn, New York, and Daniel Fried of Denton. Ushers were Carter and Carson Ross with assistance from Coleman Ross, cousins of the bride, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Special music was provided by Peggy Wilson. Reverend Mario Parga sang during the wedding service. Jason and Rebecca Searcy read special selections from Corinthians.

Following the service, parents of the bride hosted a reception and dinner buffet at the Marshall Lakeside Country Club. The rooms were decorated with touches of vintage items and fall floral arrangements. The bride's three-tier wedding cake was draped with brown ribbon, and the groom's cake was adorned with chocolate covered strawberries. The cakes stood on a table in front of the fireplace mantle decorated in greenery and pumpkins. Guests enjoyed a Photo Booth and dancing, with music provided by a DJ.

A bridal brunch at R&R Bakery was hosted by Debbie Hall, Florine Powers and Rebecca Searcy on Friday before the wedding. Donald Scott and Heather Morrell, parents of the groom, hosted a rehearsal dinner Friday evening at Roseville Bed and Breakfast.

Jessica and Nicholas both graduated from Marshall High School in 2003. The bride is a 2007 graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.B.A. in Marketing. She is employed by Celebrating Home and Charley and Bella's of Marshall. The groom is a 2009 graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and is employed by Norit Americas in Marshall.

Following a honeymoon trip to Whistler, British Columbia, the couple has resided in Marshall.
