The bride is the daughter of Mr. George Geoffrey McKay and Mrs. Jody Sparkman of Marshall, and granddaughter of Harold and Patsy Griffin and Joan McKay. She is a 2006 graduate of Marshall High School and attends UT Tyler. Alissa is a preschool teacher with First Methodist Day School of Marshall.

He is a 2005 graduate of Springwood High School in Houston and 2009 graduate of UT Tyler with a degree in computer science. Randy is employed with Draeger Safety Diagnostic in Longview.

The double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Carleton Burris, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church. Instrumentalists included Cathy Jones, pianist; Laurie Thompson, flutist and Bart Howlett, guitarist. A special vocal duet performed by Miranda McKay Telford, sister of the bride, and Ricky Hall, music and worship leader for Immanuel Baptist. The song, 'Captivate Us" by Watermark, focuses on the commitment and the drawing of the unending love relationship we have with the Lord Jesus Christ and His presence. Scripture was read by Katie Murphrey, Molly Howlett and Blaire Howlett, friends of the bride and family.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents, and escorted by her father. Her dress was a formal Galina Signature original gown in ivory. The beaded tulle ball gown had a fitted strapless bodice with a sweetheart neckline. The waistline was trimmed and wrapped with a band of elegant rhinestones, pearl beading and crystals that formed a beautiful ornate brooch in the center of the waistline. The breath-taking skirt featured a sweep train with glamorous tulle tiers delicately flowing down the skirt and tiny silver beading underneath each tier. The bride's bouquet was teeming with colors of deep plum calla lilies, green cymbidium orchids, purple tulips and purple lisianthus wrapped in beautiful ribbon and adorned with a rhinestone and crystal brooch.

Bridesmaid dresses were an iridescent taffeta in plum with a bubble hem at the knee. The strapless dresses featured a fitted ruched waistline, adorned on one side with a beautiful handmade rose of the same fabric and a centered burst of rhinestones. Each carried a bouquet of white tulips.

The bride's maid of honor was Miranda McKay Telford, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sandy Papa, sister-in-law of the groom, Heather McMinn, Meghan Bell, Terri Elliot, Rachel Cherry, Amanda Magraves and Gina Matheny, all special friends of the bride.

The groom's best man was Tim Papa, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Jason Telford, brother-in-law of the bride, Jon Weatherstone, Ben Roberson, Jason Smith, Jared Wondra, Dustin McCandless and Sam Strickland, friends of the groom. Ushers were Jordan Shaw, friend of the bride, Seth Elliott, friend of the bride and groom, and Sean Roberts, friend of the bride.

The flower girl was Mikayla Sparkman, niece of the bride. She wore a long dress in ivory satin and tulle. The fitted bodice featured tiers of folded satin adorned with delicately sewn threaded appliqu├ęd roses. The waistline was cinched at the side with a beautiful fabric rose graced with sprigs of baby pearls falling into a long ballerina tulle skirt. The ring bearer was Jesse Papa, brother of the groom.

An elegant dinner reception and dance was held at the Marshall Visual Arts Center. The decor of white and black chandeliers draped in crystals lined the entire venue with the touch and style of Audrey Hepburn. The candle-lit tables brandished beautiful large white branches dipped in strands of crystals in a box overflowing with white roses, plum carnations and a splash of white feathers. Each table featured unique decor of glass vases filled with an array of fresh blooms in plum, magenta, white and a touch of green, with an old Hollywood flair. The entrance table was accented with a draping chandelier, backed by a flow of sheer black fabric, and lined with crystal and antique framed photos of the bride and groom.

The bride's four-tiered white layer cake was decorated with delicate ivory scroll on white, with plum satin ribbon embracing each layer, cinched with handmade ribbon roses accented by antique rhinestone and crystal brooches in the center of each rose, and prepared by Carolyn Dawson. The groom's chocolate fudge cake was decorated with fun scrolls and circles topping uniquely-placed two-tiered square cakes with a baseball theme, covered in chocolate-dipped strawberries, and prepared by Jennifer Skinner. The cake tables were highlighted by a dramatic sheer black backdrop and romantic lighting from a black crystal-flanked chandelier.

The house party included Cassie Patterson, Amanda McMinn and Jennifer McMinn, friends of the bride, and Molly Hayner, cousin of the bride. Anna Claire Oney, cousin of the bride, and Claire Nichols, friend of the bride, attended the guest register and programs. Tina Patterson was the wedding design coordinator, assisted by Carol Stott. Photography was by Ben Daily. The reception dinner, by Catfish Express Caterers, provided a delicious meal of steak and chicken. Mattox Entertainment provided music for the reception.

The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom's parents at the church fellowship hall, was a savory Mexican buffet. A custom keepsake video recounting Randy and Alissa's relationship was shared, then concluded with a heart-felt toast and charge from Miranda Telford and Tim Papa.

M'Liss McMinn hosted a Slumber Party for bridesmaids on the eve of the wedding. Vikki Powell and M'Liss McMinn hosted a bridesmaid brunch at M'Liss McMinn's home the day of the wedding. Randy and Alissa honeymooned in Jamaica and have made their home in Longview, Texas.
