The bride is the daughter of Mr. Albert M. Thompson, Jr., Esquire and Mrs. Johnnie B. Wilder-Thompson. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Wilder, Mr. and Mrs. Albert M. Thompson, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Ocie M. Thompson, (papa Uncle). Vanessa attended private and public schools in Houston, graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, Tyler, and attended Wiley College.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Elizabeth Dean-Manley and the late Kenneth Dean. He attended Tyler ISD and attends Kilgore College.
Bryan M. Barquet, MA, provided the delightful songs of praise. Ms. Mavis Deadmond of Houston was the soloist.
The altar was filled with cathedral pillar candles. An array of roses and callies were very elegantly arranged in large Italian vases.
Given in marriage by her father, A.M. Thompson, Jr., the bride was charming in her gown of raw silk satin, featuring a sweetheart neckline with opal crystals and pearls imported from Sweden. The cathedral length train and veil was contoured to match her family’s handmade heirloom crystal tiara. The veil was adorned with whimsical drops of Háma crystals. Her bouquet was a lovely array of roses, crystals and Callie lilies.
The maid of honor was Danielle Naville. Matron of honor was Tabiath Hightower. Bridesmaids were Brittany L. Brown, Yonanda Castleberry, Maylisha Donald, Brooke Dupree, Shlonda Edwards, LaWanda Jones-Hopkins, Roshunda Johnson, Ruqayyah Abdul Jabbaar-Wilder, Danna Naville, Shamonique Stewart, and LaRaldrian Thompson. Junior bridesmaids were Alexas Hightower, McKenzie Morale, and Danishia Naville. The flower girls were Jayla Hightower, and Elizabeth Griffin Nelson.
The best man was Kenwyn Castleberry. Groomsmen were Chris Brown, Charles H. Cornish III, Kevin Dean, James O’Neal Dean, Marcus Jones, Alord Joseph, Enus Lewis, Juan McCauley, Justin Brandon Moore, David Thompson, Tyrone Thompson and Justin Tucker. The ringbearer was J’Kalen Walton.
The couple honeymooned in Hawaii.
