No one was injured Friday morning when a car crashed into the Marshall Post Office in the 200 block of East Travis Street, Marshall police said.

Marshall police Public Information Officer Kelly Colvin said the 10 a.m. crash remains under investigation.

Albert Ruiz, spokesperson for the US Postal Service's East Texas division, said the safety and well-being of both the agency's customers and employees is of the utmost importance to the U.S. Postal Service.

"On March 15, 2019, at approximately 10 a.m., a postal customer drove their personal vehicle into the Marshall Post Office. The accident caused damage to the exterior wall, but neither the driver, customers nor employees were injured," he noted.

"It did not affect retail or delivery operations and a contractor has already begun repairs," Ruiz said.
