County to consider temporary workers for election office

The Harrison County Commissioners Court will consider authorizing the human resources director to create four temporary employee slots for the election department now through Dec. 31 as requested by the elections administrator.
If approved, the salaries for the temporary employees will be paid from the general fund.
The item will be discussed when the court convenes for its regular meeting, starting at 9 a.m. today at the Harrison County Historical Courthouse.
In other business, the court will consider approving a contract for services with the Texas Department of State Health Services to include providing online computer services related to vital records.
Other items on the agenda include:
Consider approval of a speed limit change order for County Road 1012 (Tracy Road) in precinct one to 30 miles per hour;
Consider approval of a stop sign placement order for CR 3429 (Country Club West) at the intersection of CR 3405 (Maple Springs Road) in precinct three;
Consider action regarding approval of the installation of grade crossing warning devices on CR 4109 (Memory Lane) at the Union Pacific Railroad in the county with all future maintenance responsibility for the advance warning signs, stop lines and the vegetation control to maintain visibility of the grade crossing warning devices and advance warning signs to be the responsibility of Harrison County;
Consider approval to adopt local policy and procedure regarding alien sponsors as provided by Chapter 61 Indigent Health Care and Treatment Act, Section 61.008(a)(6);
Consider action to approve a tower site lease agreement with East Texas Medical Center Emergency Medical Services for the installation and operation of communications equipment at the Smelley Road site owned by ETMC.
