Air Force Maj. Jeffrey M. Marshall has graduated from the College of Naval Command and Staff at the Naval War College in Newport, R.I. The college is the world's oldest institution of its kind devoted to advanced military studies.
The student completed a multidisciplinary program designed for U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, and Air Force officers, and civilians from various government agencies. Many of the graduates will be assigned to high levels in command of ships or squadrons, or as members of strategic planning staffs.
The rigorous academic curriculum consists of trimesters based upon the three core courses of study, namely Strategy and Policy, Joint Military Operations, and National Security Decision Making, along with a challenging elective courses program. The curriculum also features seminar-based course work and case study discussions. The courses are designed to provide depth and perspective to the study of conflict, its causes and resolution.
Graduates receive master of arts degrees in National Security and Strategic Studies as accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
