City officials to discuss travel budget, employee evaluations on Thursday

The first city commission meeting of 2013 will cover issues that have been on some commissioners' minds for a while.
Commissioners are set to hear about an ordinance amending the this year's budget to appropriate $116,000 from General Fund Reserves for the street reconstruction project.
Also on the agenda, is a discussion on the travel budget for city commissioners for the 2013 fiscal year. The item had been brought up in previous meetings as a sidebar issue, but was continuously saved for future meetings.
Another sidebar item that is officially on the agenda for city commissioners for discuss is a report on the status of implementation of employee evaluations.
Commissioner Gloria Moon will bring up a discussion of how various violations are handled by the Code Enforcement office.
Directors of the Boogie Woogie Program in Marshall Jack and Nancy Canson will present a video on Boogie Woogie that was one of the tasks for the 2012 Birthplace of Boogie Woogie contract. Canson gave each of the commissioners a copy of the video at the special-called city commission meeting on Dec. 20.
