Karen Partee, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Texas Bank and Trust, was recently awarded the Certified Financial Marketing Professional (CFMP) designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers (ICB), a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association (ABA) in Washington, D.C.

Partee joined Texas Bank and Trust in the spring of 2004. As Chief Marketing Officer, Partee oversees all marketing, advertising, and community relations for the bank and its 14 branches.

She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from Texas Tech University. She is also an honors graduate from the ABA School of Bank Marketing and Management at Southern Methodist University.

The CFMP designation is awarded to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of financial services marketing. The CFMP exam covers many areas including financial principles, laws and regulations, market research, characteristics of marketing plans, and marketing components.
