Wilkins, Griffin strong at plate for Marshall Lady Mavs

Henderson's Brianna Robinson helped her team with her arm and her bat last week. Gladewater's Zoe Pilgrim bashed opposing pitching to help lead Gladewater to a pair of wins.

For their efforts, Robinson (Pitcher of the Week) and Pilgrim (Hitter of the Week) earned top ETvarsity.com/Best Preps honors for games played April 10-15.

Robinson hurled a no-hitter at Carthage in a 4-0 win, striking out seven and walking three. She also homered in the game.

Pilgrim belted a pair of three-run home runs last week, finishing the week 6-for-8 with two homers, two doubles and eight RBIs in wins over Spring Hill and Gilmer. In her last three games, she's 10-for-12 with three home runs and 13 RBIs and she's hitting .519 with six long balls and 32 RBIs on the season.

In other top performances from around East Texas (nominated by coaches):

PITCHER

Longview's Kennedy Cameron struck out 13, walked three and allowed three earned runs in seven innings in a win over North Mesquite.

Tatum's Essence Allen struck out nine with two walks and no earned runs allowed in 14 innings against Carthage and Center.

Pittsburg's Bailey Smith struck out 19, walked three and allowed one earned run in 10.1 innings pitched against Pleasant Grove and Liberty-Eylau.

Jefferson's Hannah Welch struck out 15 and walked four in games against Harleton and Elysian Fields.

Union Grove's Maddie Clowers worked nine innings in wins over Big Sandy and Carlisle, striking out eight, walking two and giving up two earned runs.

HITTER

Longview's Alexandria Johnson and Saunti Darden both finished the week 5-for-7 with three doubles in two games.

Mount Pleasant's Kamille Gill was 6-for-6 with three doubles, six RBIs, five runs scored and two stolen bases in two games. Teammate Blakely Cheek went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI in a win over Pine Tree.

Marshall's Kinley Wilkins finished the week 4-for-7 with a double and two RBIs, and teammate Maycee Griffin had three hits in seven trips to the plate.

Tatum's Destiny Hicks was 4-for-7 with two RBIs in two games.

Pittsburg's Kaycee Parker was 4-for-8 with a pair of home runs and six RBIs in two games.

New Diana's Kloe Meador finished the week 4-for-7 with a home run.

Elysian Fields's Shay Lucus was 4-for-6 with a couple of RBIs in two games.

West Rusk's Makana Morton was 3-for-3 with a double, home run, three RBIs, three stolen bases and five walks in two games.

Union Grove's Paige Summers was 5-for-7 with a double and four RBIs, and teammate Kasi Jones went 4-for-9 with a double and two RBIs.
