Auditions this weekend for Jefferson production
April 21, 2017 at 4 a.m.
Jefferson's Opera House Theatre Players is bringing back one of the most popular shows, "The Marvelous Wonderettes" - only this time it will be Act 2 when the four girls are 10 years older and sing songs of the 1960s at a high school reunion.
The original presentation was presented last December and received high praise from the audience as they went through the lives and loves via the songs of the 1950s.
Two of the original actors are returning for their roles: Penny Mann who played Missy, the overachiever of the group and Stacy Davis who played Suzy, the ditzy blonde who giggled all the time but ended up as the prom queen.
The two roles needed to fill are Cindy Lou, who was the prettiest girl at Springfield High, and Betty Jean, the class clown who was always vying for attention with Cindy Lou.
Cindy Lou's vocal range would ideally be mezzo-soprano and Betty Jean's is an alto.
Auditions will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Parish Hall of Christ Episcopal Church or other times by special appointment.
Rehearsals for the July production will begin in late May and information my be obtained by calling (903) 665-2310 , emailing JeffersonTheatre@aol.com or visiting www.JeffersonOperaHouseTheatrePlayers.com.
