A Marshall man is facing several charges for his alleged role in a shooting that occurred this afternoon, Marshall Police Department reported.

“On Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at approximately 1p.m., officers with the Marshall Police Department responded to the 1600 block of E. Houston Street near Maulding Street on reports of a shooting. Preliminary reports suggest that 27-year-old Brian Davis fired several shots at a vehicle that was traveling on E. Houston Street,” a press release from MPD stated. “Davis then fled the scene on foot.”

Fortunately, no one inside the vehicle was injured.

“Davis was apprehended by responding officers a short time later on E. Bowie Street near Merzbacher Street,” officials said. “The firearm Davis used during the commission of the crime, which had been reported as stolen, was recovered by Marshall Police’s K9 Unit.”

Davis was booked into the Harrison County Jail, where he is charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Theft of a Firearm. The shooting remains under investigation.
