Marshall and Harrison county firefighters responded to a Marshall business fire Saturday afternoon, Marshall Fire Chief Reggie Cooper said Saturday.
“At 2:11 p.m. this afternoon, the Marshall Fire Department was dispatched to Cabot Industries, located on University Avenue for a small fire in the plant,” Cooper said. “The fire was quickly contained by arriving units. Scene officer Colin Noble turned the scene over to ESD 4 to continue and complete overhaul operations.”
Cooper said while responding to the fire, emergency services were called to assist a firefighter.
“Marshall EMS was later notified and responded to the location for an ESD firefighter suffering from heat-related issues. The firefighter received fluids but was not transported to the ER,” Cooper said.
There were no other injures noted to any fire personnel or Cabot employees, he said.
