The Marshall Area Council of the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Pines held its first eatery fundraiser of 2019 on June 5 in partnership with Schlotzsky’s in Marshall.
Schlotzsky’s, at 1600 E. End Blvd. N., donated 20% of all sales made from 5 p.m. to closing for the day.
According to a news release, the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Pines is dedicated to inspiring and equipping all young people, especially those that need us most, to achieve their full potential as healthy, productive, responsible and caring citizens.
“We are so thankful to have strong community partners like Schlotzsky’s in the Marshall area who support our mission and support our kids,” Chad Patterson, CEO of the regional area Boys & Girls Club of the Big Pines, said. “Thank you to those who came by, participated, and enjoyed a great meal.”
Rush Harris, President of the Marshall Area Council, offered thanks to all that contribute to their organization through fundraising efforts like these.
“Every contribution helps,” he said. “Thank you to the businesses that stand out in support of our community’s children and foster community growth and leadership. Thank you to all the volunteers and staff who are willing to dedicate their time and resources which allow our local club to function. It would not be possible without them.
“A special thanks is deserved to Alex Keith, Vice President of the Marshall Area Council,” Harris added. “It was his efforts and direction that made this event happen.”
The Marshall Area Council is part of the regional Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Pines, with 20 centers and extensions in five counties and over 1,000 kids.
