Moms were special guests last week at the first grade Mother's Day celebration at Trinity Episcopal School in Marshall.
Each year, the United States celebrates mothers on the second Sunday in May. The holiday was conceived by Anna Jarvis, with the first "official" celebration in Grafton, West Virginia on May 10, 1908. President Woodrow Wilson issued a national proclamation for the national Mother's Day in 1914.
