Campbell graduates from Ole Miss

UNIVERSITY, Miss. — Katelyn Ruth Campbell, of Harleton, graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Mississippi on May 11 at the university’s 166th Commencement.

Campbell was among more than 5,500 students who received degrees as December, May and August graduates.

The University of Mississippi, affectionately known as Ole Miss, is the state’s flagship university. With more than 23,000 students, Ole Miss is the state’s largest university and is ranked among the nation’s fastest-growing institutions.

LeTourneau announces Spring 2019 graduates

LONGVIEW — LeTourneau University held Spring 2019 commencement services recently for over 400 graduates who received bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Among them were:

  • Hallsville: Celena Blake, Bachelor of Science in BS Counseling Psychology, Magna Cum Laude
  • Harleton: Victor Sims, Associate of Interdisciplinary Studies
  • Marshall: Andrew Venable, Bachelor of Science in BS Mechanical Engr; Kelley Watson, Master of Arts in Counseling, Summa Cum Laude; and Jerrod Williams, Bachelor of Science in Professional Flight

Graduates with summa cum laude honors maintained grade point averages between 3.8 and a perfect 4.0. Those with magna cum laude honors maintained grade point averages between 3.6 and 3.79.


President’s List

MAGNOLIA, AR — Kennadie Philpot earned a 4.0 GPA during the spring 2019 semester and recognition on Southern Arkansas University’s President’s List.

Philpot is a sophomore Pre-Nursing (BSN) major from Waskom.

A total of 349 students were honored on the spring 2019 SAU President’s List, compared to 290 students earning this award last year.

Dean’s List

MAGNOLIA, AR — Southern Arkansas University announced the names of 442 students who earned a 3.5 or higher GPA for the spring 2019 semester and recognition on the SAU’s Dean’s List.

Marshall: Hugh Crisp, junior Pre-Nursing (BSN); Anthony Washington, senior Agriculture Business.


Louisiana Tech University announced graduates from its May 18 commencement ceremonies. Area graduates include:

  • Hallsville: Logan Bailey, Bachelor of Arts
  • Marshall: Hunter Roy Hartmann, Bachelor of Science, Health and Physical Education
