JEFFERSON — Dozens turned out in the cold and rain on Thursday to meet “100 Things To Do In Texas Before You Die” author E.R. Bills at the Jefferson Carnegie Library in downtown Jefferson.
The Friends of Jefferson Carnegie Library hosted the free wine and cheese reception for Bills Thursday, who noted the historic bayou town and nearby Caddo Lake in his top 100 list in his book.
In his book, Bills lists Jefferson as his No. 18 “thing to do,” and he included in his list “No. 27: Get Lost on Caddo Lake;” “No. 36: Greet Autumn at Daingerfield State Park;” and “No. 59: Explore Gushers at the East Texas Oil Museum” in Kilgore.
Copies of the book are available for purchase on Amazon.
