MARSHALL Beloved husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, Thomas Francis Fugler, age 79, passed away in Shreveport, Louisiana on Thursday, June 6, 2019 surrounded by his family.
Tommy was born on August 22, 1939 in Marshall, Texas to LaVerne Allen Fugler, Sr. and Ida Mae (Francis) Fugler. He is preceded in death by his parents, L.A. Fugler, Sr. and Ida Mae Fugler; his brother, L.A. Fugler, Jr.; his daughters, Carol Ondek and Willa Fugler. Tommy is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Connie McFerrin Fugler; his children, Wendy McKnight, Tracy Davenport, Kathy Fugler, Eric Neal, Chris Neal and Thomas Jordan Fugler; his grandchildren, Jennifer Evans, Walta Francis (Ryan), Glen Evans, Bentley Staggers (Lisa), Greg Okhovat, Scarlett Staggers, Kaitlyn Davenport, Ian McKnight (Becca), Chandler Davenport, Landon Davenport, Emily Hill, Carver Dobson, Cooper Neal, Eleanor Neal; his great-grandchildren, Melah Daniels, Cohen Staggers; his brother, Paul Fugler (Ruth); his brother-in-law, Charles McFerrin (Ken); and his sister-in-law, Pat Fugler. Tommy is also survived by his special friends who meant so much to him, David Jordan, Ricky Bryan, Bo Ellis, Deon Behrman and many other friends who knew and loved him.
Tommy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, active duty for four months during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He worked as a contractor for many years in Marshall, Houston, Waskom and Chicago. He also opened the very first Century 21 office in Marshall, Texas. The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Shaun Kelehan for always being there for Tommy, no matter the hour.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Meadowbrook Funeral Home at 1:00pm, Saturday, June 15, 2019 with LaDarius Carter officiating. There will be a Reception following the service from 2:00pm-3:00pm at Meadowbrook Funeral Home. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ricky Bryan, Dr. Shaun Kelehan, Bo Ellis, Deon Behrman, David Jordan and Jose Pena. Online condolences may be offered at
