Letter’s argument applies to humans too

A paragraph in last Saturday’s New Messenger’s “Letter to the Editor” caught my attention. The letter said:

“It is our own irresponsibility that creates our animal problems. Slaughtering the products of our mistakes punishes the victims. How can anyone of conscience rationalize this? In addition, each adoptable animal destroyed represents a lost opportunity.” I agree.

Doesn’t the same at least apply to humans? Reread the quoted paragraph and insert the word “baby” instead of the word “animal.”

Indeed, how can anyone of conscience rationalize this?
