ETBU Director of Public Relations
A hobby of mine is doing play-by-play sports announcing for ETBU athletics and on occasion for KMHT radio as well
I am a native East Texan born in Palestine, Texas. My dad worked for Halliburton Services in which we moved from Palestine to Tripoli, Libya, when I was seven years old. After 26 months in North Africa my family settled in Abilene for a few years before moving to Kilgore. I graduated from Kilgore High School in 1980. During my time in Kilgore as a high schooler I began to work as a DJ for KOCA radio and as a stringer for the Kilgore News Herald. So talking, reporting, and writing has been something I like to do. I have been at East Texas Baptist University as Director of Public Relations since 2003 coming to ETBU after serving as pastor of Friendship Baptist Church of Marshall for six years. What I love about working at ETBU is that I exercise the gifts and talents that God has given me to tell the story of how God is at work in the lives of the students, faculty and staff. Marianne and I have been married 28 years and been blessed with a daughter and two sons. Marianne is a native of Hallsville and teaches English at Harleton High School.
